Katherine Heigl shares how growing up as a child in a 'white bubble' changed the way she raised her adoptive family of multiracial origins. Katherine Heigl, the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" star shared in a recent interview that she was told that when it came to the color of her skin, she didn't care the way she looked when she was younger, but once she talked about her sister's age, who was taken in to South Korea, she realized that society was different when it came to the two of the two. "I wanted to know Meg how she was treated differently when she went out with our parents and the times she was out on her own. She said: 'Oh Sure, I've witnessed everything!' It made me realize I was naive," Heigl said to her parents. She became enraged, and she decided to make use of her anger to assist her daughters who were adopted by her. Heigl is the mother of a 4-year-old son and a 13-year-old husband, Josh Kelley. They took in Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8), who is black, in 2009.
