Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
One child was strapped onto my back while one crawled inside the playpen. I worked 12 hour days for months sanding and taking wallpaper off, all while carrying one kid. Ha! The house was getting closer to finishing, but it was still a long distance to go. For this project, I was prepared to spend a considerable amount of time and money shopping for my dream home. My three sons and me searched for hidden gems while at estate sales to keep my spending under control. The routine we had for the week was to walk from Thursday through Saturday through estate sales and garage sales to purchase a mix of vintage and modern pieces, while I spent weekends painting and sanding the driveway. My passion for restoration of furniture began when I saw a style like this. No matter what, the house was already furnished. At the local market, I rented a small area and then sold a few objects. Eventually, my collection grew enough that the area I had was not enough. Over 1000 people visited my home over the course of a weekend to purchase everything on the ground floor. Growing Days was founded in my own home. Growing Days was more than an extremely successful company, it was as well my family. It was a balance between the start of a company and becoming a mother. Growing Days just fit. My precious Nora was born in 2013, which was our 4th child. Though I was content with the direction that my business took, I felt like I needed to take a little break. I decided to stop building my old furniture and spend time with my kids. It was exactly the thing I needed. It rang once more after some time. I was getting calls from people asking me for assistance with home improvements and interior design. A majority of these were the ones who had strolled through my house during open house for furniture! It wasn't long before I managed a large-scale house renovation business. The first step was to take clients one by one at a pace that I felt confident in. You would probably have amused me if you told me this would become the basis of the DIY Network tv series. It's true that I smile when I think about it.
